“You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot hide. Neither do people light a candle and put it under a bucket. Instead, they put it on a candle-stick where it gives light to the whole house. Let your light shine before people in such a way that they may see your good actions and glorify Your Father, The Great Gardener, in The Heavenly Kingdom.” (Matt. 5: 14-16)
Pearl liked the bright colors in this illustration. She said that the colors should remind everyone that they can only reflect the light of Jesus, not make it themselves. Jesus is The Light; we are only little lights reflecting His Light, just as Pearl helped us understand in The Great Gardener’s Son. (The link will take you to the book in Barnes & Noble Bookstore).
By the Way: There are several white hens in the illustration above. Can you figure out which one is Pearl?
Just as a Side Note for Pearl’s Special Fans: In this illustration, Jesus is shown wearing a curious hat that is made of thorns. Pearl has seen it in her dreams of Jesus. As you may remember, Pearl calls herself “A Maker of Curious Hats,” and we are working on a book right now that will explain that curious hat which is actually a crown. It is a “Top Secret” project, and you know how Pearl loves a secret!
