People think that a child’s prayer is insignificant, but that is not true. Even though children are smaller than grownup people and can’t make a lot of the choices that only grownup people are supposed to make, they are still very important. You may have noticed how we chickens are in a similar situation to the children of people.
Here is something that Pearl has seen for herself. As Pearl explains, “When a child’s prayer is joined with a prayer from Jesus, miracles can happen. I have felt this energy from prayer myself. Children are often underestimated, just as we chickens are. Jesus never discounts any child or chicken.”
“So, I say to you, don’t worry about your life. Don’t worry about what to eat or drink. And, don’t worry about your body and what to wear. Isn’t life about more than meat, and the body about more than clothing?
“Look at the birds of the air. They don’t sow, reap, or store in barns. Yet, your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they?” (Matthew 6: 25-26)
When you study the illustration for this post, you may think that it is saying that the child’s prayer is wasted. The child is praying for a chicken, one of the birds that our heavenly Father will feed. But that may or may not be true. The child may be offering up a prayer of thanks for the blessings brought by that chickens.
We should not think about prayers as consisting mainly of requests. The Great Gardener is likely very pleased to hear a prayer of thanksgiving for what he has already taken care of for us before we even asked.
